A resident of Newport in Maine contacted the police when he spotted a female neighbour mowing her lawn topless. A local ordinance prohibits the exhibition of genitalia or sex acts committed in public, however there is no state law prohibiting a woman from going topless on her own property. A town selectman successfully argued that 'breasts are not genitalia' and 'mowing the lawn is not a sex act'! Story here.
